Your First Dental Appointment: What to Expect and How to Prepare

Going to the dentist for the first time can be both exciting and nerve-wracking. It's completely normal to have questions and uncertainties about what to expect during your initial dental appointment. To help ease any apprehensions you may have, here's a guide on what you can anticipate and how to prepare for your first visit:

When you first make an appointment with us, you’ll be asked to complete an online medical history form and contact details. Then, when you arrive at the practice you will be greeted by reception and given any relevant information regarding your appointment.

Once taken into the surgery, we will discuss your dental concerns and perform a comprehensive examination of your teeth, gums, and mouth. This will include taking X-rays to get a closer look at the overall oral health and possibly clinical photos and an intra oral scan (these will all be provided in the initial consultation fee of £65)

The dentist will then review your examination findings and discuss any areas of concern. If any dental issues are identified, the dentist will discuss treatment options with you. They will explain the recommended procedures, associated costs, and any potential risks or benefits. This is your opportunity to ask questions and address any concerns you may have.

Depending on your oral health, the dentist may recommend scheduling follow-up appointments for further treatment

Remember, we are here to provide care, answer your questions, and help you feel comfortable. Your first dental appointment sets the foundation for a healthy smile, so embrace the experience and take pride in prioritizing your oral health.
